Stinky and Dirty Show Birthday Party

My youngest loves the Amazon Original Stinky and Dirty Show so we had a birthday party with construction vehicles and garbage!  I used Stinky and Dirty Toys from Amazon to decorate, black fondant for the roads, brown sugar for the dirt, and fondant and a variety of sprinkles for the "garbage."   Instead of piñata, I had treats and toys stashed in a large box of garbage (plastics, cardboard, and containers that were clean) that the kids got to dip through to find hidden treasures. They used some of the garbage containers to hold all of their surprises. The kids had a blast digging through "garbage" to get to the surprises.  The drinks were fuel: Gasoline and Diesel. I got theses free printable labels from  https://mandyspartyprintables.com/2016/10/03/free-construction-party-printables/ . We also had a surprise ice cream truck show up. We made Chill with cardboard and paper and taped him to a cooler and gave out a variety of popsicles and ice c

Doc McStuffins Birthday Party

Doc McStuffins Birthday Party My youngest daughter loves to watch Doc McStuffins, so of course she had to have a Doc McStuffins birthday party this year! I found a set of characters for fairly cheap and came up with this fun little cake, complete with broccoli trees and bushes. I found a gingerbread house kit on clearance for a few dollars at Kohl's which worked perfectly for Doc's toy hospital. When the kids arrived they got to go to the check in station to check in their toy. They also got a bag to hold the items they would get throughout the party. After check-in, the kids hung out in the waiting room till it was their turn to take their toy to the doctor. In the x-ray room, they could see their toy had a broken bone and would need to go to surgery next. Then their toy had an eye check-up. Of course, we didn't forget to eat the cake!! What a fun day!!

A Dance to Cure the Crying

Found this video from a few years back and wanted to share. It's always amazing to me how young children at times find ways to help their parents without really knowing that's what they are doing...or maybe they do know. Anyway, I had just gotten home from the hospital with a brand new baby who was struggling to eat. I hadn't had much sleep and was pretty distraught because we had no idea why she wouldn't nurse. My 2 year old daughter, seeing that I was upset, went and got all dressed up by herself (if you couldn't tell from the amazing costume) and had us turn on some music so she could cheer us up with a dance performance. She asked us to record her cute dance. Little did we know she had a surprise up her sleeve...or down her dress. Truly don't know where she learned that trick!! Made me and my husband laugh and laugh though. It was a much needed relief from all the crying I was doing. Love this girl!!!
