Doc McStuffins Birthday Party

Doc McStuffins Birthday Party My youngest daughter loves to watch Doc McStuffins, so of course she had to have a Doc McStuffins birthday party this year! I found a set of characters for fairly cheap and came up with this fun little cake, complete with broccoli trees and bushes. I found a gingerbread house kit on clearance for a few dollars at Kohl's which worked perfectly for Doc's toy hospital. When the kids arrived they got to go to the check in station to check in their toy. They also got a bag to hold the items they would get throughout the party. After check-in, the kids hung out in the waiting room till it was their turn to take their toy to the doctor. In the x-ray room, they could see their toy had a broken bone and would need to go to surgery next. Then their toy had an eye check-up. Of course, we didn't forget to eat the cake!! What a fun day!!

A Dance to Cure the Crying

Found this video from a few years back and wanted to share. It's always amazing to me how young children at times find ways to help their parents without really knowing that's what they are doing...or maybe they do know. Anyway, I had just gotten home from the hospital with a brand new baby who was struggling to eat. I hadn't had much sleep and was pretty distraught because we had no idea why she wouldn't nurse. My 2 year old daughter, seeing that I was upset, went and got all dressed up by herself (if you couldn't tell from the amazing costume) and had us turn on some music so she could cheer us up with a dance performance. She asked us to record her cute dance. Little did we know she had a surprise up her sleeve...or down her dress. Truly don't know where she learned that trick!! Made me and my husband laugh and laugh though. It was a much needed relief from all the crying I was doing. Love this girl!!!

Fairy Birthday Party

My daughter wanted a fairy party for her birthday this year. We painted fairy houses. T  Went on a fairy hunt, finding fairy accessories to put on as we searched. Found a fairy garden (the fairies were the twinkling lights inside the little houses).  Opened presents. And ate the fairy tree stump cake!! What a fairy fun day!!! :) Fairy Hunt Clues: START: Look in the only tree where a fairy could be. TREE: Let’s see if we can trick the fairies into thinking we are fairies too. Look in the blue fairy box to see what accessory will help disguise you as a fairy. BLUE FAIRY BOX: There’s a box on the porch where we keep the outdoor toys. Find the next clue to see what to do. DECK BOX: Fairies love bright colors. Find something to put in your hair, so the fairies you will not scare. Hint: Take a peak in the pink fairy box and see what you think. PINK FAIRY BOX: Fairy wings are important
